The project includes a 400 square foot pool house with an outdoor entertainment space including a covered kitchen, pool and spa, and landscaped play spaces for the clients' growing family. The site planning for the design overcame the challenge of creating a multi-functional entertainment space in the confined area by providing two distinct yard spaces separated by the proposed pool house. The yard spaces provide shade throughout different times of the day and converge at the connection between the existing residences and the pool houses covered exterior spaces. The pool and spa area utilize one of the yards for an additional lounging area, while the second yard runs along the side of the existing residence overlooked by the pool house. The pool house was designed with a main gathering space, kitchenette, and bathroom that is accessible from both the interior and the covered exterior area. The pool house reaches the maximum height allowed by zoning, making the main gathering space feel larger with high vaulted ceilings while provide additional storage over the bathroom and kitchenette, accessible via a library ladder.
